พระราชมนู หรือที่ในบันเทิงคดีนิยมเรียกว่า "เพชร" เป็นยอดทหารเสือคู่พระทัยผู้เก่งกล้าและซื่อสัตย์ที่สุดของสมเด็จพระนเรศวรมหาราช ท่านเริ่มต้นจากการเป็นมหาดเล็กและนายทหารคนสนิท ก่อนจะสร้างวีรกรรมนำทัพหน้าบุกทะลวงฟันและทำสงครามกองโจรในศึกสำคัญมากมาย เช่น ศึกเมืองคัง ศึกแม่น้ำสะโตง ศึกยุทธหัตถี และศึกปราบเมืองละแวก ด้วยความดีความชอบอันท่วมหัว ท่านจึงได้รับโปรดเกล้าฯ พระราชทานบรรดาศักดิ์ขึ้นเป็น เจ้าพระยาอัครมหาเสนาธิบดี สมุหพระกลาโหม ซึ่งเป็นยศและตำแหน่งแม่ทัพฝ่ายทหารที่สูงสุดในแผ่นดินอยุธยา หลังจากตรากตรำทำศึกปกป้องบ้านเมืองมาอย่างยาวนาน ในวาระสุดท้ายของชีวิต ท่านได้ล้มป่วยและถึงแก่อนิจกรรมลงอย่างสงบในแผ่นดินอยุธยา ทิ้งไว้เพียงเกียรติยศและรอยดาบแห่งความกล้าหาญให้แผ่นดินได้จดจำ
Phra Ratchamanu, popularly known in fiction as "Phet," was the most fearsome and loyal Tiger Soldier to King Naresuan the Great. Rising from a royal page to a trusted comrade-in-arms, he proved his valor as a vanguard commander, mastering guerrilla warfare and spearheading historic campaigns including the Battles of Muang Kang, the Satong River, the Great Elephant Duel, and the subjugation of Lovek. For his supreme merits, he was elevated to the highest military rank in Ayutthaya as Chao Phraya Akkharamahasenathibodi, the Grand Commander of Military Affairs (Samuha Phra Kalahom). After a lifetime of relentless battles to defend the realm, he passed away peacefully due to illness in Ayutthaya, leaving behind a legacy of honor and traces of his blade forever etched into the land.
